Rapid dating, Rapid breakup... 💔💔😂😂😂😫💔🥵

 

I had just got to work. As usual, I sat on my office desk to start working. I switched on my office computer. When I was done, the boss arrived at work with another lady. I stood up to greet him. The lady was beautiful ❤️ 🤩, so I could not help but steal glances at her as they went to the boss's, office. 

As I sat to continue with my work, I heard a clap in the boss’s direction, so I checked involuntarily to know who had clapped. I then saw the lady look at me. I looked at her too! I then immediately switched to my work though I could not concentrate. I was continually disturbed by her beauty and her sudden behavior in the office,😂 as any man would. I also wondered why she was going to the boss. 

While working, I came across a certain report that I was supposed to take to the boss for signing. “This is the time!” I exclaimed happily. I would use that time well in looking at the lady. I would also get a glimpse of what was going on between the boss and her. So I rose up and walked majestically to the boss’s office. That's when another lady entered and introduced herself as Mary and wanted to see the boss too! 😜 This was not normal. So I sent her to the secretary. Why would all these beautiful ladies go to the boss alone anyway?😂 

My boss was called Gerald, forgive me🙏, I forgot to say. So I went to his office and when I was just at the door, I heard whispers of two individuals who appeared to be close to each other. I stood again to listen. 

“Wait🫸, but Gerald has a wife! What am I hearing?” I thought. I decided to wait, to give them some time to finish their monkey business before I got in. However, the whispers were still there🤔🙍🙎😂. I cleaned my throat loudly and stamped my feet on the ground while getting inside the office to announce my coming in advance. I did not want my boss Gerald to be embarrassed before me!🙍 Immediately I got in, I saw the lady shifting quickly in her seat and Gerald shifting to the computer quickly. He stared at it and then stared at a blank paper he was holding at his hand. 🤷

“Boss, that paper is blank!” I said looking at him. He immediately looked at me somehow ashamed of what he was doing. 

“Oh yes SAM!” He replied, "I was actually figuring out whether some report this lady has brought will fit here when printed.” The lady nodded looking at me. 

“Mr. Gerald, will it fit?” She asked. I knew what they were trying to hide. So I decided to play along. 

“Well, that's fine, sign this report for the annual audit submission.” I said, offering him the report. He signed without checking. “Good work on your report Madam,” I said leaving. 

“Nice time handsome!” She replied. I almost fainted because of happiness when I heard her call me handsome 😂. 

“Wait, did she just call me handsome?” I thought as I continued with my work. “No, let me just assume I was dreaming.” Later in the day, the lady came from Gerald's office and came to mine. She watched me for sometime as I worked. I pretended to be busy on the computer and the compilation of some data which was needed urgently. 

“Come on, I can help you!” She said. My eyes quickly lit up with excitement 😍. I then laughed. “You don't believe that I'm capable of doing this task? Is it concerned with audit submission?” 

“Yes, how did you know?” I asked amazed. 

“When I tell you that I know these things, don't think it's a joke,” she replied. So helped me with the compilation of the report. Later, we were able to meet in a certain hotel for a dinner date. It was then that we got to know each other. She was Cate, I'm SAM😃. I could deny that our situation was love at first sight. So I planned on how I would surprise her by proposing to her at a time she never expected it. I was so happy to get a girlfriend. 

“Wow!” I exclaimed every time I thought about her. The end of the month was here. “Ngrr!” A bank notification just popped in😂. It was Friday evening. So I had the whole weekend to myself 😃😂, I had a heavy wallet, and a girlfriend!!! The weekend found us at Green Park Hotel, eating and feasting with lots of drinks at the table. 

The time eventually came. I excused myself to go to the washroom. I had bought flowers, roses to be precise and an engagement ring which was inside a small red box. I had requested one waiter to keep it for me. I explained that I needed to surprise my girlfriend Cate with them. I was so excited 😆 😊! 

“This moment is very important!” I thought, “Let me call my mum to witness this situation!” I immediately dialed her number and called. I arranged for her transport then she came after a few minutes. During that time, I tried to bring stories to Cate as we continued drinking and romancing. 

A notification popped in my phone. My mother had arrived. I excused myself again to the washroom, explaining that I had a problem with my stomach. I explained everything to my mother and she picked the flowers and we went to where Cate was. We tiptoed from behind. I covered her eyes from behind.

“SAM,” she said, “you've begun your jokes!” I was so excited that she had mentioned my name. So I looked back and nodded at my mother happily. She was equally happy. So when I withdrew my hands, she turned to face me! There, she found me kneeling down holding the ring, ready to propose to her!❤️❤️ She was shocked and excited at the same time. My mother behind me smiled, waiting for the sweet moment between her son and her would-be daughter-in-law.

“Cate!” I called her romantically. 

“Yes!” She replied softly. 

“My mother is here to witness this sweet🎂, amazing🤩, transformative moment between both of us!” 

“Yes!” She replied softly. Her voice was now so sweet and only fueled the urge for me to propose to her. 

“Before God who is in heaven,” I said, lifting the ring high in the air and holding her middle finger, “before my mother who is here with us and before you my love and companion 💝 💋, I…” Before I could finish, I saw my boss coming to sit at the next table from where we were. He was alone. I stopped for a while. Looking at both Cate and glancing at the boss at the same time, I managed to see the boss dialing a number on his phone to call someone. Immediately, Cate's phone rang. She did not look at it! She continued smiling. 

“I… I wish… I wish to…” I struggled to finish the words but I couldn't 🙍😧💀💀💀. Immediately, I became uneasy. The events of the first day Cate had entered the office came clearly in my mind. I remembered how both the boss and Cate reacted when I got in. “No!” I thought. 

“Hey SAM!” Cate asked looking at me who seemed to have been lost in thoughts, “Enough of staring at my beauty! I will be yours soon!” However, I did not smile back at her. The ring in my hand fell on the floor.. My hand left hers and I quickly stormed out of the hotel angrily. Everyone was shocked. Cate came towards me crying. At the entrance, the security personnel stopped me to pay them the bill. I dipped my hand in my pocket, took out my prepaid card and threw it at them. 

“My pin is…. Use it!” I gave them all my details without care. I then left without looking back. Behind me, I heard two things: footsteps of my mother following me and the cry of Cate with the laughter of the boss beside her. 

I'm totally confused right now 😮 😮 😆🤷🤷. I wonder when and where I will find a better Cate!!!! 🥲
