Happy Anniversary 🎁🎉, she never knew it was coming 😃😃

 

I was in my bedroom when I heard my father speaking with Cate the house help.

“Have you made sure that SAM is asleep?” My father asked. 

“ Yes, Sir he is.” She replied. 

“So everything is as I've told you, make sure that nobody knows.” He said. 

“Yes Sir, I've heard you.” She replied. I became curious to listen. 

“What are they talking about?” I asked myself. “What is it that we're not supposed to know?” I decided to pretend to be sleeping. So I started snoring loudly when I heard my father coming towards my room. 

“He is asleep,” Cate said, “don't you trust me?” 

“I must confirm for myself.” My father replied. My father entered my room. I continued snoring loudly. When he left, I opened my eyes and raised my head slightly, setting my ears wide so that I could hear everything clearly.

“Let's hurry and do it before she comes.” Cate said. My eyes lit up. I heard footsteps heading to my parents’ bedroom.

“Is Dad cheating by any chance with the house help?” I asked myself repeatedly, “a mere house help?” I could not settle. “What will happen if Mum gets from work and finds them doing whatever they are doing?” 

“It's so heavy!😂” I heard Cate's voice shout. 

“Don't shout, you will wake SAM.” My father replied. “Hold there.” I rose up in my bed confused. I wanted to shout but I decided to be silent. 

“Why is he doing this?” I asked myself repeatedly. Not wanting to interrupt them, I covered myself with my blanket and closed my eyes trying to sleep. However, I could not sleep.😂 Sooner than later, I heard them pass the living room. I heard the door being opened. 

“Be quick. Let's go back and finish!” Cate said. The footsteps were heard going to the bedroom again. After sometime, they were heard again in the living room going out. I was getting more and more confused. They then got inside the house and went again towards the bedroom. There was some silence then I heard them talking as if they were whispering to each other. 

“Everything is set.” Cate said. 

“Let's wait for her.” Dad replied and I heard footsteps in the living room. Seconds later, I could not hear anything. I rose from my bed silently and tiptoed to the door. I opened it slowly and checked whether there was anyone. I tiptoed slowly towards the living room and checked. There was no one.

“Where have they gone? Are they hiding something?” I wondered. I then tiptoed towards the bedroom to see whether they were there. 

“What are you doing?” I was terrified and immediately looked back to see my mother who had just come from work. I was silent and looked at the bedroom hoping for Dad and Cate to come out of hiding so that I tell Mum we were playing hide and seek. However, they did not come out. “I asked you, what were you doing?” Mum asked again rather angry. 

“Ah… I…” I stammered. 

“Did you want to steal something from our room? Who taught you the behavior of getting in your parents’ room when they are not there?” 

“Ah… mum… please forgive me! It's just that…” 

“Just what? Where is Cate? Has she left you alone?” 

“No mum. I was actually looking for them.” 

“What do you mean you were looking for them? Cate and who?” Before I could respond, there was a loud bang outside. Mum and I were terrified. Still wondering what was happening, another bang was heard and the ambulance siren heard. 

“Oh my GOD! Dad and Cate!” I shouted before we both rushed to see what was happening. Immediately we opened the door, both Mum and I could not believe our eyes. 

Before us stood a big screen with colorful images. Behind it was a big table and boxes placed in front of it. I looked at Mum who was also equally confused. A strong light immediately flashed before us and a table appeared before us. Plus, every delicacy you could think of was there. I started salivating and Mum held my hand when I tried going towards the table. 

Then suddenly, the screen flashed with the following message: 

HAPPY WEDDING ANNIVERSARY BABY 😍😍😍😍💕. 

Immediately, Dad and Cate appeared from the dark and Dad hugged Mum who was still struggling to believe.
