DOES TRUE LOVE REALLY EXIST???🤷🤷🤷🤷
You won't believe what happened to me last night 😳😳. I got home from work very late at night. There was so much work to do in the office and my boss had given me strict deadlines and instructions to finish compiling some reports that were to be submitted to Jamii Telecom International. Our company wanted to get a contract from them and I was the only staff tasked with the responsibility.
So when I got home, the gate was locked from inside. I tried calling the security guard to open for me but there was no response. So I got out of my car and went to the gate. I had to climb the gate and open it from inside. So when I parked my car, I went to the door and knocked.
“Babe!” I called knocking. There was no response. I called again but still no response came. “Cate!” I called. Cate is my wife. When there was no response, I called my daughter to open the door for me.
“Hi, Dad!” Mary, my eldest daughter greeted me.
“Hi, where is Mum?” I asked getting inside the house.
“Ah… Mum left the house without telling us.” I was 😳 shocked.
“Why would she do that?* Mary did not answer. I pondered for a while. I then instructed Mary to her room to sleep. I went to my room and there was nobody. The bed was just well made and the floor well mopped. I sat on the bed for a while. On the table beside the bed, was a dish . When I opened it, my favorite meal of rice beef was well served. However, I had lost my appetite. So I took my phone to call Cate my wife.
The phone rang without being answered. I called again but the call was not answered. I waited a few minutes and called again. The number was not reachable 😳😳! So I struggled to gain appetite and barely ate the food prepared for me. When I was done, I sent her a text message informing her not to be late wherever she was.
So I slept. My phone woke me up ringing in the middle of the night. I looked at it. The number calling was private. I stared at the phone unblinkingly. After three rings, and after some contemplation, I picked up the phone.
“Are you Mr. SAM?” A familiar voice asked me. I tried to remember the person but I couldn't. I immediately rose and sat on my bed eager to listen.
“Yes, it's me!” I replied anxiously.
“Are you sure you're the one?” He asked again which made me turn my sitting position uncomfortably.
“Yes I'm the one, what is it?”
“You know Madam Cate?”
“Yes, I know her! She is my wife!*
“Is she at home?” The familiar voice asked which confused me once more. I wondered whether the person was trying to trick me into some kind of prank. After some time of being silent, I decided to tell him the truth.
“Uhm… she is not at home?”
“Well, I'm Dr. Nimrod and this is Nairobi Hospital. Your wife is here trying to abort her pregnancy 😳😳. Are you aware of that?” I almost fainted! How could that be?
“What! Are you serious?” I exclaimed, shocked.
“Yes, you should come quickly to Nairobi Hospital so that I can explain to both of you the importance of keeping the pregnancy. Your wife here doesn't seem to understand me!”
“But how can this be? My wife Cate is barren!😳 Did she lie to me!”
“To that, I'm not involved, come quickly so that we can solve this matter.” I left the house shivering not because of the cold but because of fear. I did not know what I was afraid of. Even in the car, I had to put on loud music to save me from hearing the frightening sounds of the night.
Sooner than later, I arrived. I quickly ran to the ward where my wife had been admitted and knocked. A short gentleman opened for me and as soon as we set eyes on each other, I remembered him as my campus friend. I was really happy to meet him, however my happiness died down when I looked at Cate who was sitting on the chair in front of the doctor.
“Welcome, Mr. SAM.” He said as we shook hands. “I believe you know this lady, Madam Cate and she is your wife, isn't she?”
“Yes, she is.” Cate did not dare to look at me. She continuously looked down.
“Well, now Cate, I heard your husband here say that you're barren, yet now you came here to abort a pregnancy! How can that be?” The Doctor asked. Cate remained silent looking down. We both looked at her waiting for answers and I noticed how our faces were oppressive upon her.
“I can explain…” she said at last.
“You can explain?” I asked her, getting angry. “Cate you have the guts to lie to me that you're barren so that we don't get any additional children? What were your intentions?” She remained silent. The doctor was also shocked to hear that.
“I mean, wanting to abort a child is somehow negotiable but lying to your husband about such a critical condition,” he paused to create the tension, “is on another level altogether.”
“Okay, now I get you,” I said after thinking for a while, “you wanted us to have that one child, who is your child so that she can be the one to inherit my property? You never wanted me to have my own child to inherit my property?”
“Wait, what do you mean by that?” The doctor asked.
“I married this woman when she had one daughter. Her husband had died, so I married her. Now apparently she never wants us to have a child, who will be my own blood to inherit my property. Or maybe, she is cheating on me and that the pregnancy is not mine.” I explained.
“Ahh… I was actually… eh…” she stammered. Before she was done, her phone rang. We looked at her and the phone as she looked at us shyly.
“Pick that call now!” I told her, “Have the call on loudspeaker!” She picked it and what the caller said shocked us.
“Hey Babe!” A deep male voice said. Cate was silent as she looked down. “Are you done? I’m already organizing the gang to wait for him as he comes from work. You already told me that he will be late from work.” He was silent. Cate was silent too. The doctor and I looked at each other shocked.
“I… I…” She stammered.
“Why are you quiet?” I asked her.
“Who is that I’m hearing?” The man on the call asked. I could not continue listening to her again. I left the hospital banging the door behind me. I did not listen to Cate who came running towards me begging me to listen to her. I was so sad, so I drove home and went straight to my room. Cate, who had just been dropped by a bodaboda rider, came running towards me begging me for forgiveness. On the side, I saw Mary looking at us. I could not bear it anymore. I went and packed my clothes.
“It’s over between us!” I said. “You wanted my wealth, then have this house. And from today, you should never call me!” I looked at Mary and tears were in my eyes. Though she was not my own daughter, she loved and respected me. I bid her goodbye and went to stay elsewhere.
Deep down I’m asking, does true love really exist????🤷🤷😳😳 Please tell me guys!!!!🤷🤷
